Essential Functions/Responsibilities/Duties

  • Maintain patient medical records, updating patient medical history and current status, including vital signs, medical treatments, and medication provided. Reviews and updates patient immunization records.
  • Prepare for patient visits. Review the patient file, including lab requests, referrals, and correspondence. Verify and ensure necessary reports are present. Provide updates to the Provider team as needed.
  • Collaborate with Providers to ensure efficiency of schedules and continuity of care. Discusses patients scheduled for the day, including pre-visit prep.
  • Prepare and maintain patient exam rooms, ensuring that appropriate supplies are in the room and that necessary equipment is present and sterilized.
  • Prepare patients for examinations, explaining medical treatment procedures as needed.
  • Provide limited education and coaching for patients within scope. This includes discharge information and responding to follow-up questions. Instruct patients about medication and possible allergic reactions.
  • Respond to patients’ questions and concerns in person and via email. If the question is outside the scope, direct inquiries to the appropriate person.
  • Assist physicians during examinations, procedures, treatments, and minor office surgeries.
  • Anticipate Providers’ needs and manage Providers’ requests.
  • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens. Complete screenings. Collect and review patient data per protocol. Follow up on test results as directed by healthcare Providers. Document specimens collected and results in electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Prepare and administer medication as directed by a physician.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Perform clinical responsibilities in alignment with The Joint Commission (TJC), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), and YVFWC requirements.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Completion of either an accredited medical assisting program from CAAHEP or ABHES (720 Medical Assistant training hours, including 160-hour externship), an approved apprentice program, 720 hours of Medical Assistant college education, equivalent military training, or current MA or eligibility for certification
  • One year’s experience as a CMA is preferred
  • CPR certification
  • National credential from AAMA, AMT, NHA, or NCCT within 90 days of hire
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required at a level 10 for bilingual differential pay
  • Medical knowledge for understanding theories, reasons, and technical aspects of medicine
  • Strong people skills to handle diverse personalities, backgrounds, and situations
  • Excellent multitasking ability to manage varied workloads
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Epic, and EMR

What You’ll Do:

  • Maintain and update patient medical records, including vital signs, treatments, and medications, and review immunization records.

Position Highlights:

  • $21.23-$31.26/hour DOE + 8% Differential

What You’ll Do:

  • Maintains patient medical records, updating patient medical history, current status including vital signs, medical treatments and medication provided.

  • Reviews and updates patient immunization records.

  • Prepares for patient visits. Reviews the patient file, including requests for labs, referrals and correspondence. Verifies and ensures necessary reports are present.

  • Provides updates to Provider team as needed.

  • Collaborates with Providers to ensure efficiency of schedules and continuity of care. Discusses patients scheduled for the day including pre-visit prep.

  • Provides limited education and/or coaching for patients within scope. This includes discharge information and/or responding to follow-up questions.

  • Instructs patients about medication and possible allergic reactions.

  • Responds to patients’ questions and concerns before, during and after home visit. If the question is outside of scope, directs inquiries to appropriate person.

  • Assists Provider during virtual visit.

  • Anticipates Providers’ needs and manages Providers’ requests.

  • Collects and prepares laboratory specimens. Completes screenings. Collects and reviews patient data per protocol.

  • Follows up on test results as directed by healthcare Providers. Documents specimens collected and results in electronic medical record (EMR).

  • Prepares and administers medication as directed by a physician.

  • Performs clinical responsibilities in alignment with The Joint Commission (TJC), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), and YVFWC requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED that is accredited by a regional or national accrediting agency approved by the US Department of Education is required.

  • Graduation from a medical assisting training program (may be a one-year certificate/diploma program or a two-year Associate Degree program) that is accredited by either the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES). This training program must be comprised of at least 720 hours of medical assistant training, including at least 160 hours in a clinical externship.

  • Experience with a Home Visiting Program preferred.

  • Two years’ experience as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred.

  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required within 90 days of hire.

  • Certifications must be maintained and remain current.

  • Must have Medical Assistant Certification or Medical Assistant interim certification from the WA State Department of Health.

  • Valid Driver’s License and proof of automobile liability insurance coverage.

Skills:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required. Must demonstrate the ability to communicate at level 10 on the language proficiency scale to receive bilingual differential pay.

  • Medical knowledge to understand the theories, reasons and technical aspects of medicine.

  • Comfortable using telehealth technology to facilitate video consultations with providers.

  • Ability to provide compassionate care and support to patients in their homes.

  • Strong people skills to handle different personalities, backgrounds and personal situations. Experience managing potentially challenging home environments and addressing patient concerns with professionalism.

  • Strong multi-tasking ability to handle the variety and pace of work. Capable of working independently with minimal supervision. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple appointments and ensure timely visits.

  • Basic proficiency with a variety of computer programs including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Epic and EMR.

What We Offer

Overview:

  • On-the-Job Training: Completion of 2000 hours with the support and guidance of an experienced MA coach (paid).

  • Supplemental Coursework: Completion of 410 hours of online coursework (unpaid).

  • In-Person Lab Days: Attend 3 lab days with an expert instructor to practice and demonstrate mastery of hands-on technical skills.

  • Reporting: Log and report on-the-job hours and skill practices as required.

  • Skill Mastery: Successfully perform a required number of skills and be signed off to complete the program as directed by the program requirements.

What You’ll Do:

  • Maintain and update patient medical records, including medical history, current status, vital signs, treatments, and medications. Review and update immunization records.

  • Prepare for patient visits by reviewing files, ensuring necessary reports are present, and providing updates to the Provider team.

  • Work with Providers to ensure efficient schedules and continuity of care. Discuss patients scheduled for the day, including pre-visit preparation.

  • Prepare and maintain patient exam rooms, ensuring appropriate supplies and sterilized equipment are available.

  • Prepare patients for examinations, explain medical treatment procedures, and provide limited education and coaching within scope. Instruct patients about medication and possible allergic reactions.

  • Respond to patients’ questions and concerns in person and via email. Direct inquiries outside of scope to the appropriate person.

  • Assist physicians during examinations, procedures, treatments, and minor office surgeries. Anticipate Providers’ needs and manage their requests.

  • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens, complete screenings, and review patient data per protocol. Follow up on test results as directed by healthcare providers and document them in the electronic medical record (EMR).

  • Prepare and administer medication as directed by a physician.

What We’re Looking For:

What You’ll Do:

  • Maintain and update patient medical records, including vital signs, treatments, and medications, and review immunization records.

  • CPR certification within 90 days of hire

  • Must have Medical Assistant Certification or Medical Assistant interim certification from the WA State Department of Health

What We Offer

Overview:

  • On-the-Job Training: Completion of 2000 hours with the support and guidance of an experienced MA coach (paid).

  • Supplemental Coursework: Completion of 410 hours of online coursework (unpaid).

  • In-Person Lab Days: Attend 3 lab days with an expert instructor to practice and demonstrate mastery of hands-on technical skills.

  • Reporting: Log and report on-the-job hours and skill practices as required.

  • Skill Mastery: Successfully perform a required number of skills and be signed off to complete the program as directed by the program requirements.

What You’ll Do:

  • Maintain and update patient medical records, including medical history, current status, vital signs, treatments, and medications. Review and update immunization records.

  • Prepare for patient visits by reviewing files, ensuring necessary reports are present, and providing updates to the Provider team.

  • Work with Providers to ensure efficient schedules and continuity of care. Discuss patients scheduled for the day, including pre-visit preparation.

  • Prepare and maintain patient exam rooms, ensuring appropriate supplies and sterilized equipment are available.

  • Prepare patients for examinations, explain medical treatment procedures, and provide limited education and coaching within scope. Instruct patients about medication and possible allergic reactions.

  • Respond to patients’ questions and concerns in person and via email. Direct inquiries outside of scope to the appropriate person.

  • Assist physicians during examinations, procedures, treatments, and minor office surgeries. Anticipate Providers’ needs and manage their requests.

  • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens, complete screenings, and review patient data per protocol. Follow up on test results as directed by healthcare providers and document them in the electronic medical record (EMR).

  • Prepare and administer medication as directed by a physician.

  • High School diploma or GED

What We Offer

Overview:

  • On-the-Job Training: Completion of 2000 hours with the support and guidance of an experienced MA coach (paid).

  • Supplemental Coursework: Completion of 410 hours of online coursework (unpaid).

  • In-Person Lab Days: Attend 3 lab days with an expert instructor to practice and demonstrate mastery of hands-on technical skills.

  • Reporting: Log and report on-the-job hours and skill practices as required.

  • Skill Mastery: Successfully perform a required number of skills and be signed off to complete the program as directed by the program requirements.

What You’ll Do:

  • Maintain and update patient medical records, including medical history, current status, vital signs, treatments, and medications. Review and update immunization records.

  • Prepare for patient visits by reviewing files, ensuring necessary reports are present, and providing updates to the Provider team.

  • Work with Providers to ensure efficient schedules and continuity of care. Discuss patients scheduled for the day, including pre-visit preparation.

  • Prepare and maintain patient exam rooms, ensuring appropriate supplies and sterilized equipment are available.

  • Prepare patients for examinations, explain medical treatment procedures, and provide limited education and coaching within scope. Instruct patients about medication and possible allergic reactions.

  • Respond to patients’ questions and concerns in person and via email. Direct inquiries outside of scope to the appropriate person.

  • Assist physicians during examinations, procedures, treatments, and minor office surgeries. Anticipate Providers’ needs and manage their requests.

  • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens, complete screenings, and review patient data per protocol. Follow up on test results as directed by healthcare providers and document them in the electronic medical record (EMR).

  • Prepare and administer medication as directed by a physician.

What We’re Looking For:

  • High School diploma or GED

  • CPR certification is required within 90 days of hire

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred at level 10

  • Medical knowledge to understand the theories, reasons, and technical aspects of medicine

  • Strong people skills to handle different personalities, backgrounds, and personal situations

  • Strong multi-tasking ability to handle the variety and pace of work

  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Epic, and EMR

Seeking a flexible individual to work variable schedules (8- or 10-hour shifts), with rotating Saturdays and holidays, and the ability to float to other local sites as needed.

Position Highlights:

  • $21.23-$31.26/hour DOE

  • $5,000.00 Hiring/Retention Bonus Structure:

    • At Hire: $1,500.00

    • At 180 days (6 months): $2,000.00

    • At 12 months: $1,500.00

What You’ll Do:

  • Prepare and maintain exam rooms, explain procedures to patients, provide education and coaching, respond to patient questions and concerns, and assist physicians during exams and procedures

  • Collect and prepare lab specimens, administer medication, and perform other assigned clinical responsibilities

Qualifications:

  • Minimum high school diploma or GED

  • Completion of an accredited medical assisting program (one-year certificate/diploma or two-year Associate Degree) from CAAHEP or ABHES, with a minimum of 720 training hours, including at least 160-hour clinical externship

  • One year’s experience as a CMA is preferred

  • CPR certification within 90 days of hire

  • Must have Medical Assistant Certification or Medical Assistant interim certification from the WA State Department of Health

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required at a level 10 to receive differential pay

  • Medical knowledge for understanding theories, reasons, and technical aspects of medicine

  • Strong people skills to handle diverse personalities, backgrounds, and situations

  • Excellent multitasking ability to manage varied workloads
